I like the synthpop of Fickle Friends. This song is called "Wake Me Up." Wikipedia tells me Fickle Friends are "an English indie pop band from Brighton, East Sussex, England" and formed in 2013. I'm charmed by frontwoman Natassja Shiner's voice.

Song of the Day: "Wherever Is Your Heart" by Brandi Carlile

                                                                                 >>next song

I had no idea I was going to have the same artist featured twice in the day as my song of the day. But then I heard a second song by Brandi Carlile and decided she's friggin' awesome.

"The Eye" by Brandi Carlile is as close to perfect as a song gets. The harmonies, too, with the three voices blending are indescribably good.

"Happy" by Ned's Atomic Dustbin is so underrated. I try to listen to it at least a few times a year and it always does me good. That gorgeous guitar!

Song of the Day: "Burning Man" by Dierks Bentley Ft. the Brothers Osborne

I don't often listen to country music but when I do, I am from time to time quite gripped by it. I like the ceaseless unabashed love songs—those cowboys with their heart on their sleeve. And I like the sheer drama of songs like "Burning Man"  by Dierks Bentley ft. the Brothers Osborne.  That's some frickin'' guitar.

Song of the Day: "Without Me" by Halsey

                  >>next song

Some voices and some songs just go down real easy, like they were coated in sugar. I feel that way about Halsey and this song "Without Me." I also feel that way about Rihanna's voice, Mark Foster of Foster the People's voice and, throwing it back, about Sade's voice.
